Hidden in a corner of Canary Wharf is the contemporary Indian canteen and bar – Chai Ki. The restaurant is large and spacious, spread over two levels. It overlooks the canal, and also has a beautiful roof terrace.
Chai Ki prides itself on modern Indian food with a twist, serving an all-day menu to the entire floor up until 5:30pm. The all-day menu presents flavours from the subcontinent’s coastal areas – from sharing plates of Coorgi pulled pork to South Indian vegetable korma.
For breakfast, choose from spicy anda bhurji, delicious aloo tikki bun, pancakes made with buttermilk or a simple omelette. You’ll also find spectacular varieties from South India like idli sambhar and the must-try mango shrikand.
During lunch, the sweet potato chaat is a dish that should not be missed. For the evenings, there is a separate dinner menu. And on Sundays, their special brunches are a must for foodies!
They also offer a wide selection of hot and cold beverages like spiced hot chocolate, masala chai and Sri Lankan toddy.
With their secluded waterside location, quirky orange curtains, leather banquettes, Chai Ki is a breath of fresh air amidst the overcrowded Canary Wharf hub.
