International Friendship Day or World Friendship Day takes place on the 30th of July. Originally, this holiday was started by Hallmark cards in the 1930s in America, however, it soon gained traction around the world and is widely celebrated in many countries. Additionally, now due to social media, International Friendship Day has further risen in popularity globally.
It is so important to celebrate our friendships and coming out of COVID has made us realise just how important it is to cherish quality time with friends. On International Friendship Day, it is customary to celebrate friendships by exchanging gifts and greeting cards between friends, and of course spending time with friends we cherish, which we can once again do as lockdown has eased.
